Instead, they’re outdoor nuisances with an attraction to light; they’re more likely to infest decaying logs, sheds, and mulch beds than they are kitchens. If one gets into your Scotch Plains house, it’ll look for a way back out: They don’t reproduce indoors and don’t like climate-controlled properties.

Mice are among the most common infestations throughout the state and the US. They can be deceivingly adorable; despite their cute facade, they carry disease, spread bacteria, chew cords and wires, and have babies like it’s their responsibility to repopulate the earth. In fact, a female mouse can become pregnant nearly immediately after giving birth. They’re also highly intelligent; they memorize landmarks and routes and know exactly how to return to your pantry.
