Roselle: Bright Lights in the Small City

Roselle is a compact town shaped by carefully curated streets, early 20th-century homes, abundant open space, and a steady suburban rhythm. A borough that blossomed in New Jersey’s industrial boom, it possesses working-class character, deeply determined roots, and plenty of diversity. Caribbean, Latino, and African American traditions influence the town’s food, music, and culture while school pride and civic engagement preserve a close-knit feel . . . an everybody-knows-everybody essence sandwiched smack dab between hustle and bustle.

Among the most interesting fun facts about the city is its distinctive place in US history. In 1883, it benefited from Thomas Edison’s bright ideas and became the first town lit by his overhead electric lighting system. This experimental grid powered homes, the train station, a store, and streetlights, thus proving that lighting could be centralized and revolutionizing the nation in the process.

Critters Up, Down, and All Around!

Whether you have a small infestation or you’re overrun with so many critters they’re performing a production of Pest Side Story on your front lawn, we’re here to help. We understand the insects, arachnids, and rodents of Roselle and beyond.

Wasps are beneficial predators, until they start preying on you! While they don’t feed on people, they act aggressively toward them, especially if you wronged them in the past by destroying their nest, swatting at them, or maybe, dating their girlfriends in high school.

Termites feast on cellulose around the clock. They don’t sleep; their simple nervous systems don’t require rest the way more complex systems do. Simplicity aside, termites exhibit longevity (with queens often living 40 or more years) and demonstrate complex, collective intelligence; they communicate through vibrations and pheromones and build self-ventilating colonies.

Waterbugs, true to their name, enjoy lake life and live in fresh bodies of water. They rarely come into Roselle structures (roaches do and are often mistaken for waterbugs), but it’s not unheard of; they’re strong fliers and attracted to light. They’re also painful biters, most often chomping on toes dangling in the water.

Weevils find all kinds of fun things to do inside your pantry. They use their long snouts to drill into seeds and lay eggs in bags of grain and nuts. They can silently infest foods for months and have a penchant for the dramatic arts: some will play dead when disturbed.

If pests are rocking and rolling in your Roselle home or business, we’ve got you covered!
