Rodent Control and Rodent Proofing in a Haworth Kitchen
We regularly answer questions we receive from our clients on our site. We are often times asked about mouse-proofing a home. If you are not sure if you need a professional pest control company you see a bit more detail here about how our work is performed.
Jackie is one of our clients on our Protection Plan. We first started working with Jackie in December. At the time our inspection found mice droppings behind her kitchen stove at her home in Haworth.
We found several gaps behind the stove that the mice were using to get inside the house. So we sealed those up to make sure that mice are not able to enter the kitchen anymore.
Our inspection found droppings in the boiler room as well. We still set up our rodent control program in her attic and basement as well even though there were no droppings at the time. Attics and basements are usually the first places that become infested when mice enter a home.
They are usually dark and quiet. That makes mice feel safe and thus they nest there. From there they explore the house looking for things to nibble on.
We also inspected the outside of the house for more entry points. That’s when we found the gap pictured above and we sealed it up.
We followed up two weeks after our initial service to check everything. On our follow-up we removed a couple dead mice, but didn’t find any signs of further activity.
With the premium plan we are now seeing Jackie in Haworth every three months to proactively make sure that mice and insects are not able to enter the house.
The way we accomplish this is by making sure our rodent control is always active. We also do a barrier treatment around the perimeter of her house. This includes treating around insect entry points such as windows, doors and any pipes leading into the home.
